New gin from Moray Distillery in Elgin.
The new gin is described as “well-balanced with a clean finish” and made with traditional botanicals combined with hand-foraged botanicals from Highland and Speyside.
Avva Scottish Gin is made with using a Speyside copper still called Jessie-Jean, named after the founder’s grandmothers. The name Avva also means ‘a respected grandmother, respectable elder woman’ in the Indian language of Dravidian, in Hebrew.
The new expression is presented in a traditional apothecary-style bottle and finished with a wooden topped cork, which is de-embossed with a rose window.
Moray Distillery was founded by Jill Brown in 2015, who previously established liqueur business Berry Good.
